お母さんは、韓国出身。お父さんと結婚して日本に来ました。わたしにとっては、そばにいてあたりまえの、だからこそ、とても大きな存在です。好きなところは、わたしのわがままを聞いてくれるところと、おもしろいところ。いやだなと思うところは口うるさいことと、もの忘れが多いこと。わたしの口うるさいところや、部屋が汚いのがいやでこまめに片づけやそうじをするところは、お母さんに似ています。
いちばん上のお姉ちゃんは、大学4年生です。わたしは「オンニ」（韓国のことばで「お姉さん」）と呼んでいます。バドミントンの推薦で大学に入学しました。オンニは中学生のころからバドミントンの練習で帰りが遅かったし、大学に入ってからは1人暮らしをしているので、家族のなかではいちばん遠い存在かもしれません。オンニは本当にまじめで、しんぼう強く、がんばり屋です。ちょっとズルすることを教えてあげたいくらいです。
これは、オンニが日本で行われたバドミントンの国際試合で通訳の手伝いをしたときにもらった韓国チームのユニフォームをお母さんに見せているところです。

Born and raised in Korea, my mother came to Japan to marry my father. Of course, she plays a big role in my life--I can't imagine what I would do without her. What I love about her is that she lets me have my way and that she's so much fun. What I dislike about her is that she tends to be overcritical and that she's forgetful. I'm rather like my mother in that I am a nag, and, like her, I'm very fussy about tidying up and cleaning my room.
The elder of my two sisters is in fourth-year at university. I call her On'ni (Korean for "big sister"). She went to university by recommendation based on her outstanding badminton game. Since junior high On'ni was always late coming home because of badminton practice, and after she got into university she moved out of home, so we are not that close. She's really serious, patient, and she always follows through faithfully. I'd almost like to teach her to cut corners once in a while!
