Hidamari : An Informational Publication for Japanese Language Teachers in China
Hidamari was first published in 1999 as a newsletter for instructors and students of Japanese at a secondary level in China. Published quarterly, it is distributed free of charge to secondary schools throughout China, including junior high schools, high schools, and vocational or technical secondary schools. Hidamari's pages consist of teachers' opinions and voices, questions and answers about Japanese, Japanese expressions, class tips and Japanese materials that integrate cultural understanding and language learning, the daily school life of Japanese junior and senior high school students, information relating to Japanese language education, and others. While responding to the interests and needs of instructors and students, we have tried to provide a substantive forum where TJF and readers alike can consider the issues involved in realizing Japanese education in a new age and where a network for the exchange of experiences and ideas can emerge.
Takarabako : An Informational Publication for Japanese Language Teachers
Takarabako is a quarterly English-language publication (June, September, December, March) that provides information useful to Japanese-language teachers. It is distributed to elementary and secondary teachers engaged in Japanese language education, education for understanding Japan and global education, mainly in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the U.K, and U.S. Each issue introduces and provides variety of resources and information, as well as various ideas and teaching plans for using these materials in the classroom. The content will include material through which elementary and secondary school students can broaden their awareness of language and culture and also of themselves, through understanding of Japan and Japanese.
