November

November is the season of Shichi-go-san (Seven-Five-Three Festival), a traditional rite celebrating the healthy growth of children. Boys of age five and girls at age 3 or 7 are dressed up—sometimes in traditional kimono attire—commemorative photos taken, and visits paid to pray at a shrine. November 3 is Culture Day, often the occasion of musical concerts, plays, and other art appreciation events at schools.
Autumn foliage reaches its most beautiful season around this time with many people traveling to sightseeing spots to enjoy the seasonal colors.

Holidays: Culture Day (Bunka no Hi; November 3), Labor Thanksgiving Day (Kinro Kansha no Hi; November 23)
