特別授業でカレーをつくる

年に1度の特別授業は、生徒が自分たちで何をするか決めます。遊園地に遊びに行ったり、オペラや映画を見に行ったりするクラスもあります。ぼくたちは、チキンカレーをつくることにしました。写真は、鶏肉にスパイスを混ぜあわせながら炒めているところです。先生がつくりかたを教えてくれたのですが、なぜか味はいまひとつ。「これなら自分1人でつくったほうがおいしくできたのに」と思ってしまいました。

Once each year we have a special class in which the students decide what to do. Some classes decide to go to an amusement park, others to go to the opera or to a film. This year we decided to use the hour to make chicken curry. The photograph shows the result of our efforts mixing spices and cooking the chicken. The teacher gave us directions for what to do, but for some reason it didn't taste very good. I couldn't help thinking it might have come out better if I'd made it by myself.
