Focus on Japan 2007 was held August 3–11, 2007, with 16 participants from high schools in seven countries.

After five days of photographing in the hot summer sun, the project enters its final phase. The participants stayed up late discussing selections for their final presentation, writing captions, etc.

Even the teams from whom laughter could always be heard seem tense right before their presentation.

Participants rehearse their presentations—to be conducted in Japanese—over and over again.

Each team gives their presentation in front of the screen. The projects do not look at all like they had been produced in a short period of time by teams of students from different places who had only recently met.
