Message from the photographer

Chipped red nail polish underneath a pair of navy socks. A small rebellion. We were mature enough to be able to hide it. We are 18 years old. We have graduated from our teenage rebellion. For example “Does everyone else see things the way I do?” I no longer ask questions that I cannot answer. Is this good or bad? There is no single answer, but I can accept that. This is what it means to become an adult. It is just like keeping red nail polish underneath my socks.

About the subject

She is my classmate and we fool around every day. She is so expressive, a real performer, always shining brightly. I wanted to capture our initiation ceremony with her as the main character.
