  My Story
I was born in Wisconsin on September 21, 1987 to a family of five, not including me. My family consists of my parents, Mary and Richard, and three older sisters. My sister's names are Krista, Lindsey, and Megan. Recently my oldest sister, Krista, got married to Matt so technically I have an older brother also. I have lived in Menasha Wisconsin my entire life. Menasha is a small hometown type of city in which there isn't anything spectacular to do.
My family is a close family and we get along well, which doesn't happen too often nowadays. Two of my sisters moved out already so now I just live with my mom, dad, and sister Megan. Even though Krista moved out we see quiet a bit of her still because she lives pretty close and comes to visit a lot. Krista, along with her husband Matt, is attending UW Oshkosh. Both Matt and Krista will be graduating from college this upcoming semester. The person I see the least would have to be my sister Lindsey because she lives in Madison. She usually comes home every weekend to visit. Lindsey is majoring in Industrial engineering. In the summer Lindsey moves back home and teaches tennis lessons. The sister that still lives at home would be Megan. It's her first year in college so she isn't positive on her major but is thinking of going into biotechnology. Megan currently plays tennis and soccer for her college soccer team. My mother works at Kimberly Clark during the day, but by the time I get home from school she's done working. That way I get to spend a lot of time with her. My father just retired from being a mailman because of his bad shoulder, so he is at home most of time.
During my free time I enjoy playing sports, watching television, and hanging out with friends. I play tennis for my high school team and soccer for both school and summer leagues. I would have to say that my favorite out of the two sports is tennis. For the high school team I have been on varsity since I was a freshman. I started out at number 3 singles and ended up at number 1 doubles by the end of my junior year. The position I play for soccer is right outside midfielder. When its not tennis or soccer seasons I usually spend most of my time with my family and friends. My friends and I usually go bowling, to a movie, or just sit around. Erin would have to be one of my best friends. When you put us together we cannot stop laughing, not to mention she is an awesome bowler. When the day is starting to wind down I head out and spend time with my family. My family and I usually just sit around and watch television or talk. My favorite television show is definitely Friends. I have seen absolutely every episode of friends and also have the DVDs from season one to six.
I am now a junior at Menasha High School. When I graduate I plan on going to Fox Valley Center for two years and then transfer to UW Madison. At Madison I will either be majoring in nursing or teaching, I'm not quiet sure which one yet. After I graduate from college I plan on moving back home to Menasha, because I can't be far away from my family. Someday I hope to have a successful career and kids of my own.

I thought that the Deai pictures from Japan were really interesting. It gave me a sneak peek into the life of Japanese students. From looking at the pictures it gave me a better understanding of the Japanese culture and their traditions. In the set of picture that I looked at it showed the student with his younger sister on girl's day. I also found it interesting that he lived with his grandparents along with the rest of his family. I think that the Deai is a great way to bring different cultures together and help us understand each other better.

Hello! My name is Mai. I’m 18 years old. I am going to Waukesha, Wisconsin this August and I will go to Waukesha West High School. I don’t know if Menasha and Waukesha are close or not. But, we will live in the same state. I heard that Wisconsin is very cold in winter. In my town, Yokohama, we hardly see snowing. Do you like playing in the snow? I may have already been in Waukesha when you see this message. I like soccer too! In Japan, girl soccer is not popular. Most of soccer players are male. So, I want to try playing soccer in America.
