私は。。。
 私は1988年に生まれて17さいの韓国人です。
僖相(ヒサング)ともうします。今はアメリカに住んでこうこう3年生です。9さいまで韓国に住んで, そのあとにアメリカに引っ越しました。そのためか韓国人もアメリカ人もです。今私とお母さんだけアメリカに住んで,
お父さんとお婆さんとお爺さんは韓国に住みます。そしてお姉さんはアメリカの大学にいます。こういう理由は学校と勉強のためだとりょうしんがおっしゃいます。
小さいころ
幼稚園は記憶があまりないが、本当に面白かったです。友達がたくさんいて、先生も優しかったです。記憶はなくても楽しかったのは当然だと考えられます。小学生のころは私が一番楽しかった時言いながらも大変でした。幼稚園がおわって、小学校では友達があまりいなかったです。勉強ばかりする子供でした。小学校3年生までそうでした。あの時が私に韓国の学校で一番楽しかった年ようです。その年には友達もまた多かったし、人気も多かったです。かわいいガールフレンドもいました。その女の子と友達と学校を毎日行くのが良かったです。先生もとても良い先生でした。勉強も期末考査を全校1位した事がありました。その年がおわって、その翌年にはアメリカに引っ越さなければならなかったです。
アメリカへ来て。。。
アメリカへ来ては英語もできなくて、友達もいなくて、寂しかったです。それでも韓国人子供達が2人いたしその子供達の一緒に遊びました。その翌年にその子供達二人とも引越したが、あの時には英語も慣れたしアメリカ友達もいて大丈夫でした。英語を学ぶためにTVと本をたくさん見て読みました。成績も高かったです。6年が経って、今のこうこう生になりました。
今
今私はこうこう3年生です。親しい友達がいて、勉強もすべてAを受けています。学校外で勉強あまりしないが、学校宿題だけしても夜おそくまでしなければならないです。思って見ればアメリカ学校も韓国や日本学校位難しいようです。スポーツはあまりしないが去年と2年前には学校テニスチームのメンバーでした。春にはテニス演習が毎日放課後あったからに身が大変だったが、それでも面白かったです。今年は勉強をもうちょっとしようとやめました。私が一番好きな趣味はテコンドーです。テコンドーは私が韓国でも学んだし、今から3年前から再び始めました。階級は黒い帯初段が二あります。なぜなら韓国で学んだテコンドーとアメリカで学んだテコンドーが違うからだ。テコンドーで一番好きなことは撃破と競うです。撃破や競うことをすればストレスをぱっと解くことができるからです。今私がアメリカでテコンドーを学ぶ道場の官長様はとても有名な人です。今私の官長様はテコンドーの名前とその自体を作ったと言えるお方の弟子の弟子です。そして今官長様はNational
Taekwondo Associationのリーダーです。私はこれをとても誇らしがります。
マディソン
私が住む都市の名前はマディソンです。アメリカのウィスコンシン州の首都です。マディソンは小さいけれどとても美しい都市です。ウィスコンシン州大学もあります。マディソンはそれでそうか韓国人がたくさんいます。他の外国人もたくさんいます。マディソンは大きい湖が二つあって、小さな公園たちがたくさんあります。こうこう生の遊ぶ場所はあまりないが学びたいことがあればなんでも学ぶことができる都市です。
将来
将来に私は医者になりたいです。両親も私が医者になるほうがすきです。医者になって痛い人を治療したいです。もちろんたくさん儲けたい。その外では考えをしなかったが、まず良い大学を先に入って行かなければならないでしょう。 |

「であい」の主人公たちのおもしろい生活にぶっ飛んでしまいました。ぼくのグループは大石勘太の生活を担当したのですが、笑える写真やちょっとヘンな写真があって楽しかったです。また、ぼくと同じ姓の主人公がいておどろきました。彼女もぼくも韓国人だからですが、日本にぼくと同じ姓の人がいるなんて今まで考えたこともなかったので関心をもちました。自分のフォトエッセイを書くのに「であい」教材はとても参考になりました。このプロジェクトに参加してよかったです。

About myself
My name is Heesang. I am
a 18 year old Korean born in 1988. I live in the US now,
and this is my third year of high school. I lived in Korea
until I was 9 years old and then moved to the US. So I am
both Korean and American. Currently, I live with my mother
in the US whereas my father and grand parents live in Korea.
My sister goes to college in the US. My parents explained
to me that our situation is due to school and study.
My childhood
I don't remember much about
the days in kindergarten, but I think I had fun there because
I had many friends and gentle teachers. My days in elementary
school were not only fun but tough. I couldn't make many
friends there and devoted myself to study. However when I
became a third grader, I made a lot of friends and became
popular in class. It was the most amusing time in Korea.
I also had a cute girlfriend. I liked to go to school with
her and other friends. Teachers were nice, too. I got a first
place in end-of-term achievement examination. However, I
had to move to the US next year.
In the US
When I first came to the
US, I was lonely because I couldn't speak English or make
friends. There were 2 Korean children, so I often played
with them. When they moved the next year, I had already gotten
used to English and had many friends, so I could deal with
the situation without them. I watched many TV programs and
read many books to learn English. I did well at school. 6
years passed since then, and I became a high school student.
Present days
I am a senior student in
high school. I have close friends and get all As in classes.
Since I don't study outside of school, I need to do my homework
at school until late. I think American schools are as hard
as Korean or Japanese schools. I don't play sports much now,
but I was a member of a tennis team last year and 2 years
ago. Although I had to practice after school in spring and
my body got tired, I liked playing tennis. I quit it because
I thought I needed to concentrate on study. My favorite sport
is Taekwondo. I first learned it when I was in Korea, and
started again in the US 3 years ago. I got 2 black belts
in first level: one in Korea, and one in the US. I like "defeat
and fight" in Taekwondo the best because by doing "defeat
and fight," I can instantly release my stress. My master
of Taekwondo is very famous. He is a disciple of disciple
of the man who created Taekwondo and is currently a leader
of the national Taekwondo Association. I am very proud of
him.
Madison
I live in Madison, a capital
city of Wisconsin in the US. Madison is a small but beautiful
city. The University of Wisconsin is there. Many Korean people
live in Madison among other foreigners. There are 2 huge
lakes and many small parks in Madison. Though there are few
places for high school students to play, Madison is a place
where you can learn anything you want.
Future
I want to be a doctor in
the future. My parents also want me to be a doctor. I want
to cure patients and earn a lot of money. To do so, I need
to enter college first. |

I
was blown away by the interesting lives all the students
lived. I was part of a group that specifically studied Ooishi
Kanta's life, and we were all amused by the comical- and
sometimes a bit odd-pictures that portrayed his life. Also,
I was even more surprised by the fact that one of the Deai
students had the same last name as I. Considering she has
a Korean heritage, and I being a Korean, I found it interesting
as I could never have suspected someone with my last name
living in Japan. Working with the Deai material supplied
me with a great deal of aid in writing my own photo essay
and I am glad to have participated in this project.
