Scholastic Assessment Test is the national standardized test taken by all four-year college-bound students in the United States. It is designed to measure students' ability to follow academic work at the university level. Admittance to university is usually determined on the basis of an aggregate evaluation of SAT scores, a short essay submitted by application, high school grades, qualities of the individual applicant, and other criteria. SAT I is designed to test general level of theoretical, logical thinking while SAT II measures ability in specific subjects.
