わたしのクラス
学校祭では、展示のほかに、自分たちでつくった半纏を着て「YOSAKOIソーラン」を踊りました。半纏は、安く仕入れたシーツをピンク、紫、橙、緑の4色に草木で染めてつくりました。半纏の背には学級目標の「桜梅桃李」（花それぞれによさがあるように、人もそれぞれ個性があるのだから、各々のいいところをのばそうという意味がこめられている）を1文字ずつわたしが筆で書きました。

My class
In our school festival, we in the 1-D class also held a costume parade and performed a dance called "Yosakoi Soran" wearing hanten (happi coats) we made ourselves. We made the hanten from inexpensive sheet fabric and dyed them in four colors--pink, purple, orange, and green--using natural dyes. On the back of the hanten I brushed one character apiece of our class motto: O-bai-to-ri ("cherry, apricot, peach, plum"; meaning: Let us all develop our strong points, for just as every flower has its beauty, so every one of us has our unique traits).
